Form I-9 The purpose of this form is to document that each new employee (both citizen and noncitizen) hired after November 6, 1986 is authorized to work in the United States. Form I-9 may be found here or at the Department of Homeland Security's website
Form W-4 The purpose of this form is to instruct your employer to withhold the correct federal income tax from your pay. Form W-4 may be found here or at the Internal Revenue Service website under IRS Resources Forms and Publications.
New Jersey New Hire Law N.J.S.A. 2A: 17-56.61 and the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) of 1996, 42 U.S.C. 653A, requires all employers, both public and private, to report newly hired and re-hired employees to a State directory within 20 days of their start date.
